Changing your will to include a gift to CPRE West Yorkshire is very easy to do. Any amount, however small, can make a huge difference and will help to ensure that we can continue to campaign for things that you believe in.
If you haven’t got a will you should seek professional advice from a solicitor. This way you can ensure that your wishes will be carried out and your loved ones will be remembered as you would wish. To help choose a solicitor visit The Law Society website.
If you already have a will and simply wish to add a new instruction of a gift to CPRE West Yorkshire, this can be done by adding a codicil. A codicil does not change the terms of your current will, it simply adds the new instruction. A codicil must be signed and dated by you in the presence of two witnesses. If you are in any doubt we recommend that you speak to a solicitor.
There are three ways you can leave a gift to CPRE West Yorkshire:
- A residuary legacy is a share of your estate once all other gifts, debts, and other expenses have been paid, usually expressed as a percentage.
- A pecuniary legacy is a specific sum of money. It's worth remembering that the value of a pecuniary gift is likely to reduce over time as a result of inflation.
- A specific legacy is a gift of a particular item such a house or shares.
Any amount you choose to give will be most gratefully received. Thank you.
